Could paper towel be an effective material for making homemade masks in times of crisis and shortages? Smart Air Engineer Paddy tested its effectiveness in the Beijing lab. The Met One Instruments BAM 1020 monitors are installed across the globe in US Properties. The BAM 1020 provides reliable PM2.5 data to the employees in each country. The program started 10 years ago at the US Embassy in Beijing. In observation of the United States’ Air Quality Awareness Week and in cooperation with the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Embassy of the United States installed a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency-approved air quality monitor at the Embassy complex. The EPA currently posts real-time data from the monitor on its AirNow website: https://www.airnow.gov/index.cfm?action=airnow.global_summary. “This air monitor is part of a larger effort by the United States to support efforts to improve air quality and the environment.
