IMPORTANT NEWS ON FILTER TAPE- MUST READ

July 26, 2017 To All Users of Met One Instruments, Inc. Beta Attenuation Mass Monitors RE:  Filter Media Used in Met One Instruments, Inc. Beta Attenuation Mass Monitors Dear Customer, It has come to our attention that certain third party vendors have been aggressively selling filter tape purported to be a drop in replacement for the filter tape offered by Met One Instruments for use in our beta gauges. These “grey market” products have not been tested or qualified for use in any of our beta attenuation mass monitors. Use of unqualified filter tape in our products could cause a reduction in instrument performance such as drift, tape breakage, humidity interference or increased cleaning requirements. Furthermore, such products are known in many instances to cause corrosion to the roller mechanism because of inadequate cleaning during the tape manufacturing process.  We cannot guarantee the performance of our products when third party filter media is used. It may be easily disassembled for easy set up and removal. No disassembled component weighs more than 45 lb.

MET ONE INSTRUMENTS, INC E-SEQ-FRM SEQUENTIAL SAMPLER RECEIVES US-EPA REFERENCE METHOD DESIGNATION FOR PM2.5

E-SEQ-FRM SAMPLER Met One Instruments, Inc. announces that its E-SEQ-FRM sequential PM sampler has received US-EPA designation as a new reference method for PM 2.5 . The E-SEQ-FRM PM 2.5 configuration can hold up to 16 filter cassettes and may be preprogrammed at the monitoring site or remotely. The E-SEQ-FRM may be operated as a US-EPA federal reference method for PM 2.5 either with a Mesa Labs VSCC or a WINS impactor. The E-SEQ-FRM is lightweight and compact and may easily be disassembled and transported to and from the monitoring site; no individual component weighs more than 45 lb.   The E-SEQ-FRM is currently a US-EPA candidate method for PM 10 and PM 10-2.5 .   For further information on the E-SEQ-FRM please contact: Dr. David Gobeli Met One Instruments, Inc. dgobeli@metone.com sales@metone.com Phone:   541-4717111

FILTER TAPE FOR USE IN MET ONE INSTRUMENTS, INC. BETA GAUGES

Met One Instruments, Inc. has amended the US-EPA designations on its beta gauges so that to operate any of them as a US-EPA designated Equivalent Method, it will be necessary to use filter tape supplied by us. This measure was taken in order to prevent untested, unproven filter tape from “grey market” suppliers to be used in any of our beta gauges if they are to be operated as US-EPA designated methods. Evidence has shown that “grey market” filter media has led to degradation in the performance and in several instances to the corrosion of roller surfaces coming into contact with the tape. Currently, we are offering two, functionally equivalent filter tapes:  P/N 460130 and P/N 460180. These products are available solely through Met One Instruments, Inc. The US-EPA designations that are impacted by this change are: BAM-1020 PM 10 configuration BAM-1020 PM 2.5 configuration BAM-1020 PM 10-2.5 configuration BAM-1022 PM 2.5 configuration E-BAM PLUS

DON'T FALL FOR THIS SCAM...Don't lose the USEPA Designation.

Only tested and qualified MOI filter tape can be used on our products.  The name of this company is being used to dupe you into thinking it is Millipore as well as the claim to have equivalent filter tape.   The USEPA  designation requires filter tape provided by MOI.  Use of non qualified filter tape will make your monitor no longer USEPA equivalent.   Please contact service@metone.com if you have any questions. The Sonimometer measures wind speed and wind direction.   A set of Google Street View mapping cars, specially equipped with cutting-edge methane analyzers, are allowing Colorado State University researchers to "see" invisible methane leaks from natural gas lines beneath our streets.   The technical and computational challenges of measuring methane, and the complex methodologies used to collect, analyze and publicize the data, are detailed in a new paper in the journal Environmental Science and Technology March 22.   The groundbreaking project is led by Joe von Fischer, CSU associate professor in biology, in partnership with the non-profit Environmental Defense Fund (EDF), and Google Earth Outreach. von Fischer's CSU co-authors include researchers from statistics (Dan Cooley), atmospheric science (Russ Schumacher), and soil and crop sciences (Jay Ham), as well as experts from University of Northern Colorado and the nonprofit science collective Conservation Science Pa
