The Outline: The Ontario Section of the AWMA, in concert with Environment Canada and the Ontario Ministry of the Environment, is hosting a one day technical workshop on the current issues and challenges with the real-time monitoring of dust or particulate matter (PM).

The Outline: The Ontario Section of the AWMA, in concert with Environment Canada and the Ontario Ministry of the Environment, is hosting a one day technical workshop on the current issues and challenges with the real-time monitoring of dust or particulate matter (PM).
Real-time PM analyzers have been in use by monitoring
agencies for a number of years but the data shows that measured PM
concentrations can vary substantially between these analyzers. This is
due to difficulties in collecting representative particulate samples
under a wide range of weather conditions as well as the physical and
chemical properties of particulate matter.
Guest speakers from the US, Environment Canada, the
Ontario Ministry of the Environment and other provincial agencies will
discuss current issues and challenges facing the real-time monitoring of
particulate matter, and provide insight into what the future holds.
There will also be updates from instrument vendors on the status of current analyzers and exhibits of new products.
