MONITORING THE WORLDS TALLEST BUILDING

Met One Instruments, Inc. and its subsidiary, Climatronics, are proud suppliers of the wind monitoring equipment used on the world’s tallest building.  Climatronics Corporations’ sonic wind sensor, the Sonimometer ™ was selected by Cermak Peterka Petersen as the most robust and accurate solution to monitor the wind loads on the 160-story Burj Khalifa Tower in Dubai. The Burj Khalifa Tower stands at 2,717 feet tall and is instrumented with the Sonimometer ™ at 10 levels from the base to the pinnacle.  The CCP Wind system monitors tower sway resulting from wind loads. The Burj Khalifa will be highlighted at the 2020 World Expo.  The tower is a symbol of national pride for Dubai and promotion of the 2020 World Expo has already begun. http://metro.co.uk/2013/11/28/prince-of-all-he-surveys-dubai-royal-climbs-burj-khalifa-4206755/ For more information about our Met One instruments’ and Climatronics meteorological sensors and automated weather station...

BAM and E-BAM Filter Tape Provided By Met One Instruments is Required For Optimum Performance

You may have been approached by vendors, other than MOI, who want to sell you BAM or E-BAM filter tape.  Filter tapes for the BAM 1020 and E-BAM are sold only by MOI.  We test our tapes for months and in different scenarios to guarantee the best performance.  We cannot guarantee tapes purchased from others to have the same performance. Welcoming a Great Group of Young Scientists at AGU 2013

East Bay Academy for Young Scientists, Lawrence Hall of Science, UC Berkeley Making the rounds at the AGU Exhibit in San Francisco, this group of young people came to find out what instruments they could use to monitor pollution in the air.  Rob and Wes were very impressed with their sincere interest in studying the effects the environment has on their everyday lives.

We're At the AGU Meeting in San Francisco, Moscone Center

Please visit with Rob Beckius and Wes Perkins in Booth 735.

COMMITTED TO TOMMORROW

As a leading manufacturer of air quality and meteorological monitoring equipment, Met One Instruments is committed to environmental sustainability and socially responsible energy production.  Our products are used around the world to safeguard the air we breathe and optimize the output of our electricity generating power stations. Since 2005 Met One Instruments has been supplying weather monitoring sensors and data acquisition equipment to wind and solar farms throughout North America.  One of our recent projects is the White River Solar Farm in Alpugh, Ca. White River is a 20 MW, photovoltaic solar plant capable of producing enough electricity to power over 10,000 homes.  The facility was designed, built, and installed by our client Quanta Power Generation.  To monitor and maximize the power output from White River, Quanta specified and installed three of our Solar Monitoring Weather Stations. K-State University Human Powered Vehicle Design Team

Met One Instruments, Inc. is a proud sponsor of the Kansas State University Human Powered Vehicle Design team. Each year engineering students from K-State design, build, test, and race a  human powered vehicle in the American Society of Mechanical Engineers Human Powered Vehicle Challenge (HPVC).  In the spring of 2014, the team will compete against more than 35 other colleges and universities.  Teams will be judged judged in four areas: 1) design report, 2) speed, 3) endurance, and 4) innovation.  Part of the design criteria for the project is to evaluate the aerodynamic performance of the HPV.  The purpose of the aerodynamic performance study is to determine the most aerodynamic geometric configuration of the bicycle and rider. The study requires a measurement of rider input power, relative wind speed, wind direction, ground speed, incline relative to gravity, air temperature, barometric pressure, and relative humidity (air density).  To meas...

Drones for Oregon Vineyards need SWS Sonic Weather Stations from Met One Instruments!

It's a Probability SWS Sonic 5 Parameter Weather Station http://www.miamiherald.com/2013/11/28/3785280/some-foresee-drones-watching-over.html Some foresee drones watching over Ore. wine grapes SALEM, Ore. -- Jeff Lorton says drone technology is the next big thing in agriculture, and he's determined to make sure it lands in Yamhill County, the center of Oregon's world-class wine industry. Lorton is the county's part-time economic development manager. He's organized a Dec. 9 "Precision Farming Forum" to introduce the concept to farmers, vineyard operators and nursery managers. In farming, the potential uses of drones include flying over nurseries to do inventory and identifying areas of plant damage, disease or irrigation problems. Larger drones could carry payloads of pesticides or fertilizer, an application now being tested at vineyards in California's Napa Valley, the agricultural publication Capital Press ( http:...
