Air Quality and Meteorological Monitoring

Particulate and Air Monitoring

At the center of Met One Instruments, Inc's meteorological monitoring systems is a complete line of quality sensors, components and accessories. Weather sensors supplied with each system covers the range of measurements that provide a level of accuracy and long life that meets each user’s requirement.

Met One Instrument, Inc's Systems Integration Group provides an extensive line of automated observation systems for the accurate and reliable monitoring, recording and acquisition of meteorological, and air quality data.  High quality sensors and recording equipment insure high quality data to meet requirements of the commercial, industrial and military markets. Our products and systems  are in service around the world with environmental protection agencies, university research projects, large and small chemical/ industrial facilities as well as in agricultural and hydrological applications.  Our systems are installed at nearly all of the Nuclear Power plants around the United States and at other Nuclear facilities around the world.  Systems hard at work supplying meteorologists and researchers with vital data in some of earth’s most hostile environments.

Working with each customer, our Systems Engineers and staff examine the requirement of each project, putting together a  combination of equipment and sensors that fulfills the total requirement of the specific system.  Our Integrated systems group draws from years of experience in the design, operation, and maintenance of monitoring stations.  We have a high capability to solve problems and  make suggestions to improve overall system communications, maintenance and reliability.

Met One Instruments, Inc.  makes use of the latest technologies for the communications, display and recording of meteorological and air quality data over a wide variety of measurement applications.  These include pollution monitoring, industrial safety monitoring stations, private and university research, agriculture, hydrology, nuclear power safety systems, as well as solar power and wind energy data collection systems.  From fixed site monitoring to portable stations with satellite telemetry, Met One Instruments has a station solution for large multi-station projects or a small industrial monitoring station used for odor or particulate monitoring.

The local weather can have a major impact on many industrial processes and operations, both from an operational efficiency and/or safety standpoint. Real-time information about ambient atmospheric conditions provides necessary local weather data required to make the proper decisions during an industrial emergency involving any type of hazardous material. Depending on the plant type, size and age, the federal Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), as well as municipal and state environmental regulatory organizations, require that a number of basic meteorological variables be measured and recorded on site to ensure environmental regulatory compliance. Previously collected ambient data from the industrial or waste management site can be valuable in cases of complaints or litigation related to plant operations. Knowing your operating ambient conditions can help to increase overall plant operating efficiency and productivity, while minimizing downtime and overhead costs.
