Met One Instruments, Inc. has amended the US-EPA
designations on its beta gauges so that to operate any of them as a US-EPA
designated Equivalent Method, it will be necessary to use filter tape supplied
by us. This measure was taken in order to prevent untested, unproven filter
tape from “grey market” suppliers to be used in any of our beta gauges if they
are to be operated as US-EPA designated methods. Evidence has shown that “grey
market” filter media has led to degradation in the performance and in several
instances to the corrosion of roller surfaces coming into contact with the
tape.
Currently, we are offering two, functionally equivalent
filter tapes: P/N 460130 and P/N 460180.
These products are available solely through Met One Instruments, Inc.
The US-EPA designations that are impacted by this change
are:
BAM-1020 PM10 configuration
BAM-1020 PM2.5 configuration
BAM-1020 PM10-2.5 configuration
BAM-1022 PM2.5 configuration
E-BAM PLUS PM10 configuration
